Below are updates from when Faith was in the NICU from 9/10/04 to 12/17/04:

12/17/04: Faith is finally home! 4 pounds 11 ounces.

12/9/04: 4 pounds 5 ounces! Today Faith graduated to an open crib and is getting bottle feed or breast feed almost every feeding.

12/8/04: She received her first immunization shots today.

11/30/04: 3 pounds 10.9 ounces (She has been gaining almost about .9ounces per day since 11/18.) Look at the pictures towards the end of month 3 and you can see the difference.

11/28/04: Bottle feedings were increased to 3 bottle feedings every 24 hrs. (She is feed 8 times every 24 hrs., but most of the feedings are done with a feeding tube.) This might not sound like much, but it is a big step towards her coming home.

11/18/04: 3 pounds today!

11/17/04: Faith had her eye check up today and the doctor said it looks like the surgery went well.

11/10/04: Faith had laser eye surgery today to correct for ROP which is a common eye disease in preemie babies. With the surgery, she should be fine.

11/1/04: First bottle feeding today! Mom got to feed Faith with bottle on 11/2/04. Currently she only gets one bottle feeding per day.

10/27/04: Faith just passed the 2 pound mark last night!

10/24/04: Today Faith is breathing 100% on her own. The only tube in her still is her feeding tube.

10/18/04: Faith is doing excellent. She is currently breathing room air without supplemental oxygen. The nasal cannula is still in place to help her get the proper amount of air. Faith currently weighs 1 pound 13 ounces and is gaining slowly. I finally got to hold her today!

10/11/04: She took her ventilator out again and the doctors decided to keep it out. Sandy got to hold Faith for the first time today!

10/10/04: One month has past. Faith is doing excellent. Today she weighs 1 pound 12 ounces. All her IVs have been removed and she is feeding 100% on milk. The doctors are talking about removing her ventilator next week. She tried to remove it on her own last night. The nurses tried to tell her it was too soon, but Faith didn't listen. They realized that she removed it when they heard her cry for the first time. You can't hear her crying when the ventilator is in.
